Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his first title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial championship after the Rome competition and first on a hard court since that period of 2023.
Success also signifies he has achieved 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is particularly special," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.
He recovered from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial tour victory, took control to push for a final set.
Moutet defended four initial chances in a close final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
